Adeleke's Development Record Leaves APC with No Path Back to Power — TICC
The Imole Campaign Council says visible bridges, roads, healthcare centres and school infrastructure across Osun will remind APC campaigners how much they failed the state, revealing that APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji waited hours in Abuja to meet President Tinubu without success and that First Lady Senator Remi Tinubu reportedly declined to interfere with the will of Osun people.
The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has called on the APC to use its planned local government campaign tour to reflect on the transformative effect of good governance under Governor Ademola Adeleke, saying Osun has made significant progress that reinforces the need for continuity.
"The sights of bridges, roads, revamped healthcare centres and upscaled school infrastructures as they make their way to campaign grounds will remind the APC of how much they failed Osun people and make them understand why the people will be voting continuity on August 15," the Council stated.
TICC noted that from welfare to development, Osun witnessed its worst moments under APC rule, and the effects of the bad decisions that characterised its maladministration are yet to be completely overcome. Rather than apologising, the APC and its candidate Bola Oyebamiji continue to treat the people as inconsequential in a desperate power grab.
The Council revealed that it is aware of desperate overtures by the Osun APC to powerful figures and institutions to bypass the will of the electorate, disclosing that Bola Oyebamiji waited several hours to meet President Tinubu in Abuja without success, and that First Lady Senator Remi Tinubu reportedly made clear she is not interested in interfering with the will of Osun people.
TICC also disclosed that the choice of Ife for the APC campaign flag-off was an afterthought — its initial choice of Osogbo was shelved over fears of poor mobilisation — and that daily defections from the APC are evidence of a campaign that is "bleeding" from self-inflicted wounds.
The Council urged Osun people to be vigilant during APC campaigns, recalling past incidents of APC-branded vehicles conveying armed thugs, including the killing of 14-year-old Ezekiel Olapade in Ilobu, while reaffirming TICC's commitment to a peaceful, crisis-free campaign.
