Omirin's ₦12 Billion Claim is False and Reckless — Governor Adeleke's Spokesperson
Governor Adeleke's Spokesperson Mallam Olawale Rasheed condemns as baseless fabrication claims by Rep. Emmanuel Omirin that he facilitated ₦12 billion to the governor, listing verified education, road and healthcare projects delivered across Atakunmosa East LGA and calling on security agencies to monitor Omirin over alleged comments suggesting the use of violence.
The Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, has condemned as false, reckless and deliberately misleading, claims by House of Representatives member Hon. Emmanuel Omirin in a viral video alleging he facilitated the payment of ₦12 billion by the Federal Government to Governor Adeleke.
Mallam Rasheed challenged Hon. Omirin to state clearly — with credible evidence — what the alleged ₦12 billion was meant for, in what official capacity he claims to have facilitated it, and under what legal or constitutional authority such a transaction occurred.
"Making sensational claims without evidence may serve political propaganda, but it does not constitute truth. Public discourse should be guided by facts, responsibility and respect for the intelligence of the people," he stated.
The Spokesperson also dismissed the assertion that the Adeleke administration has not delivered meaningful development in Atakunmosa East LGA, citing visible and verifiable projects: through SUBEB, the administration constructed classrooms at Community Grammar Schools in Oko-Ago and Iwara, built a classroom block at Apostolic Primary School Ayegbaju, rehabilitated St. Luke Anglican Primary School Odogbo, and drilled boreholes across all ten wards in the LGA.
Road infrastructure projects delivered include the Atiba–Oke-Ode–Police Station Road, Odo-Odi–Secretariat Road and Roundabout–Idi Erin–Secretariat Road in Iperindo, as well as RAAMP-funded roads linking Igangan–Ifewara, Oko-Ago–Ayinrin Adedeji, and Owode Junction–Sajuku.
Primary Healthcare Centres in Amuye-Faforijin, Igangan, Itaapa, Iperindo and Iwara communities have also been rehabilitated and equipped under the administration.
"Rather than engaging in politically motivated misinformation, Hon. Omirin should present an account of his own stewardship. The people of Osun State have experienced the difference between governance driven by development and governance characterised by hardship. They remain capable of making informed democratic choices," Mallam Rasheed submitted.
The Spokesperson also expressed concern over comments allegedly made by Hon. Omirin suggesting the possible use of violence during future elections, calling on the Nigeria Police Force, DSS and NSCDC to closely monitor all political actors and ensure no individual incites violence or threatens the peace of Osun State.
"Elections must never become an avenue for intimidation, violence or bloodshed. Democracy thrives only where citizens are free to vote according to their conscience without fear or coercion," he concluded.
